hopefully this is the right spot to ask for help with this, it feels like its probably most ontopic here after i looked around but... still not totally ontopic?
so what i have is a map (blueprint.dat) which has references to my character in it, which i want to remove so when i start the scenario, or join anyone else hosting my scenario, i load in like a normal character instead of joining in as this pre-existing character in the scenario. i dont know how i can do this or if its doable though.
here is the full context of what im doing and how i got myself into this situation.
a good while ago i was making a mod which i decided to package as a scenario as it was just a group of scripts with no finite in-game content. given the nature of it and that i could make it work in multiplayer without doing anything beyond replacing control.lua file this felt like a reasonable way to package and eventually spread it, however now that im coming back to it i forgot how i was supposed to actually generate maps to go along with it so i could join in as a fresh character. what i did was generate maps normally, take saves of potential maps that looked like they would be interesting to play on with the scripts in place and then when i had a couple of interesting options converted them to playable scenarios from the save file.
at this point im not sure if this means those maps are effectively gone (for my purposes) and i should just be walking away, or if i can actually remove the only player reference from a saved game in some way (or if its salvageable by changing my name in the reference in the map or something similar).
