So a noob friend of mine was playing the campaign and he tried using an inserter to remove the stone from a burner mining drill, but it was pulling out coal.
He asked me if it was normal for a miner on stone to produce coal =P
I don't think this is working as intended, do you all think I should reproduce and file a bug report?
Inserter removing fuel from burner mining drill
Re: Inserter removing fuel from burner mining drill
It is working as intended, inserters can take fuel from burner entities. It's a common error for beginners to try and extract actively things from mining drills, while they output naturally.
[Edit] It's mentionned, albeit not in the clearest way, in the wiki :

This was used to great effect when we had 1x1 boilers.
Re: Inserter removing fuel from burner mining drill
Mining drills output naturally into other entities. That can be a chest or a belt. But also a furnace, another burner drill or a cargo wagon. They can also just drop things on the ground. This means you can mine directly from drills into furnaces to smelt things. All you have to do is add coal, which can be done manually.
It also allows you to mine coal by chaining burner drills to mine into each other.
