I haven't gone solar in my factory thus far; my map has tons of uranium and I figured that I'd get the "steam all the way" achievement. I was having massive trouble with how to route all the pipes... until I remembered landfill. Suddenly the whole thing just works fairly easily. Sitting at ~33% utilization at 600MW right now (steel backed up, so my electric smelters are idle).
