Game-world time of day clock?

It would be nice to have a little clock in the UI somewhere that shows the current game world time, so that we could tell how much time we have before night or morning comes, like so I don't get into a fight against a biter nest right before it gets dark. Does our character not wear a watch?

That seems to be one of many requests for a real-time clock in the game, which isn't what I'm suggesting

I'm suggesting to show the game world's time of day

Oh, sorry, I thought you were talking about the "time [...] before morning comes" as the time you have before you must go to bed, so that you don't end up spending the whole night (again) playing Factorio.

And, with "current game time", I thought you were talking about the total time you have been playing the game.

But now I understand what you mean.

I agree with your suggestion. The games "RimWorld" and "Oxygen Not Included" both also have such a time display, so that you can see the game's time of day.

Also, it would be useful to have a combinator which outputs the game's time of day. This has been suggested in the following thread:
