You mind your own business and suddently an alert come up saying your radar has found a signal at *This* location on the map.
you grab your SMG and a bunch of ammo and head out, to find an abandoned base, damaged walls, a few gun turrets scattered around.
You decide to loot the turrets and a bunch of chests, and head home.
this could be random. could be an alien infested base where the aliens has created bases inside the abandoned base
or a fully fuctional fortress with laser turrets you have to defeat to gain the valuable goods kept inside.
would add a whole other aspect to combat, cause after 20 hours of killing biters, with OP armor. it gets old fast. gives you somthing to do.

I would also like some reward for exploration, but I would prefer scarce valuable natural resources instead of artifacts. Small patches some valuable metal which would not be necessary but would make advanced recipes significantly cheaper so that player have reward if he find and transport them. Let's call that metal gold and give additional recipe for blue chips 1 red circuit, 5 green circuit and 1 gold ingot. High tech science with gold could give 10 bottles instead of 2 and so on. It would fit modules, satellites etc.
There was no gold nearer than 3 km from spawning point and density would be 1 patch (small but worth of several millions of normal resources) in 5 square kilometers. So that player could not rely on continuous supply but it would be nice temporary boost especially intended to phases from blue circuits to first tens of rocket launches. That would give another interesting option in mid or early late game but not be boring obligatory grind for those who want to concentrate building.

I think this should remain in the scenario realm, not in the standard vanilla game. Good thing, it should already be doable.
