Saved Games

For the love of all that is holy, please, please change the way the game Auto saves things, at the start of any game, ask the player for a saved game file, then keep auto saves under that file name (maybe a setting of number of auto saves to keep per file?) just lost 12 hours of work on a death world marathon challenge (my own fault really) and this type of thing would be really helpful.
