Ubuntu 18.04 problem

Post by ausonny »

So I decided this morning to install Ubuntu 18.04 and Factorio is the only game that worked on 16.04 that isn't working on 18.04 I'll paste the log file below. Other than go back to 16.04, does anyone have any ideas? I've tried full screen and windowed, I tried all 4 monitors, and tried deleting the config file. I have tried the Nvidia driver and the Xorg driver. I understand Wube is under no obligation to support a pre-release OS, but I'm hoping someone has an idea.

Thanks!

Hello,
I d'ont see any error in the log you provided.
What do you mean by "isn't working" ?

Sorry, yes, the Factorio window appears for an instant and then quits to the desktop and that is all that is in the log file. I see nothing there that is useful, but I posted it anyway, I've tried the Unity desktop as well as GNOME, and the same result happens. Every other game I have works. I've tried reinstalling. Again, I'm not hopeful someone can help, but I wanted to try.

Do you use the beta version of the steam client?

I hadn't even considered that as a problem. I was, I opted out of the Steam beta and my problem cleared up! Thank you!
