In 16.16 the splitter output was changed so that each item type is no longer balanced across the outputs. Is it just me who has found this can cause some unexpected results.
Below is a screenshot from within an experimental sushi belt furnace line in early game.
all of the coal is ending up going down 1 belt and the other gets nothing due to the input belt ordering.
The input belt is a balance of:
2/12 coal
5/12 iron ore
5/12 copper ore
achieved by a few splitter in an arrangement.
the unused raw materials after the furnaces are obsorbed back in to the source lines to keep everything running.
PS. yes I know sushi belts early on are going to be interesting, just playing around with the new splitters.

Despite this problem I would say it is a good change, for the reasons stated in the following thread:
