The non-modal always-on-top "Atlas" window appears without pausing the action in factorio, and without explanation. All that is required to bring it up is for the end-user (or their pet) to accidentally press the wrong keyboard button.
It provides no explanation as to what it is, or how to make it go away. The escape key does not dismiss it. Thankfully it does not persist in saves like mod gui elements often do, but, even so, I think sooner or later, somebody is going to have a serious panic attack over that thing. Maybe just make it respond to "esc"? Or at least "press F3 to dismiss". It's a big window and users might assume they cannot move it out of the way (or not have time to think of it before they are killed).

Re: Atlas Panic Attack
All F# keys are bound to debug functions by default. I guess it might be feasible to have an options menu entry somewhere (or a startup parameter) that completly turns off debug functionality (i.e. disables all the hotkeys or prints an error message to chat instead). For stable releases this could then default to off (=no debug by default), while it could remain default on (=allow debug features) for experimental releases.
