I was trying to set up a train loader where the circuit network requests an exact number of the right items when a certain train rolls into the depot and found that this wasn't possible (or at least wasn't very easy).
I suggest a new type of logistic chest that functions as both an active provider and requester: any excess over the set amount is immediately pushed to the network and taken away by bots. Also maybe I'm not creative enough, but I can't think of a way to emulate this behavior with current chests in any reasonable manner.
(By the way, the solution I had to the train problem was to load every interesting material into requesters chests at every station and then insert with filter inserters depending on circuit conditions using the train's id)
