Currently I have a bunch of trains set up to run between a bunch of the same name stations. For example, 5 stations named "Iron Plate ON" at a large iron smelting area. Then scattered across the map, 8 stations named "Iron Plate OFF", with circuits to turn the station off if it has enough iron plate or if a train is at the station. All the trains have a simple schedule of running between Iron Plate ON and Iron Plate OFF. Turning the station off, when a train is there stops any trains from starting to head there, and reroutes any trains currently heading there.
My problem is when demand is low for an item. This causes all the trains to sit at the loading station, then when one of the stations needs items, all the trains try to go to it. So in the above case, 5 iron trains would run to the single station, 1 would get there and 4 would have to turn around. This is starting to create a lot of pointless traffic, that my current rail system can't handle very well.
Is there any way to basically have a train reserve a station? So that once a train leaves for it, it will look as if its off/disabled to the other trains, and only one train will head to it.
Any way for a train to reserve a station?

There is no suitable workaround currently here.
