[PL/ENG] Problem with steam engine

Hello,

I have a problem with steam engine. Everything is connected properly, water pump - boiler -steam engine but connected lab is flashing red. ( boiler is powered ). What is wrong ? Thanks for help.

Is there coal or wood in the boiler? If that isn't it post a screenshot, so we have a better chance of being able to see what's wrong.

Coal.

This problem applies to any game, even the tutorial. It`s very frustrating. Maybe problem is with my game copy I know guys who have the same problem.

Where are the save files ?

If it isn't fuel, then I suspect that it is either your water connection to the boiler, or your steam connection to the engine.

Edit: Also the wiki has a screenshot of a power layout. https://wiki.factorio.com/File:SteamSetupExample.png . It doesn't need to look exactly like that, but that shows where the water and steam connections are.

A boiler has 3 connections. Water in/out at each end, which you have right, and steam out at the side. You need to pick your steam engine up and connect it to the pipes coming out from the 'top' side of the boiler. Where you have it located at the moment, you are feeding it water, not steam.

One more tip, press 'ALT' on your keyboard to toggle an overlay of where the fluid connections are and other useful stuff.
