I tried updating the game recently to latest version, and i'm getting an error. I played the game 2 days before and it worked fine, no issues - for some reason this update changed something.
I began the update install, and it went really slow. Then, mid-download/install I received this notification:
"Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash."
After this, I click ok, it closes the menu box, closes the factorio application. When I try and reopen factorio I get this message:
"The application “factorio.app” can’t be opened."
Now i'm unable to open the application at all.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling an earlier version. I downloaded 0.15.31.dmg version, and then tried to update it from there. I got the same messages and problems once it got to the later stages of the update ( believe the very last and most recent download).
Anyone else experiencing this / know a solution?
I'm running a 13" MacBook Pro Retina Mid-2014 with OS Sierra 10.12.6

It sounds like you might have hit viewtopic.php?t=54786. One solution is to download and install 0.16.4 from https://www.factorio.com/download/experimental . (Note that 0.16.5 has a bug that can crash the game, so I'm sticking with 0.16.4 until the fix is released in 0.16.6.
