I am using double header trains trying to get them to take the green path but they refuse to take any path but the purple one. I have signals going both ways on every track except the purple one as that is intended to be a docking area for excess trains. I have it set up so they can only enter from the north going south along that path. My train at "iron ore off 1" will not go straight north and then turn west even though that is the intended path as well as the easiest path. Why are my trains only able to take one path even though I have signals set up to go whatever path they want?

Re: Trains refuse to take the intended route
Generally it is not useful to have two tracks but to use both 2 way. To have a look into your problem the save file would be helpful.

Re: Trains refuse to take the intended route
I do have both tracks two way. I meant that the only one way part is going into my smelting area to store trains that are waiting to be unloaded. I did end up finding the problem by taking the route I had intended with a single locomotive and testing the automated setting at each intersection. When I got to a point that it said no path I knew where the issue was. I had a signal that was flipped on the wrong track where they branch off. This made it so there was no signal going to the west at that point meaning no trains can go any further in that direction on the northern most rail.
