[0.15.17] Recipe Crafting time does not update

Post by deer_buster »

Not sure if this is considered a bug or not, but I consider it as such.

When a recipe is selected in an assembly structure, the crafting time does not update, taking into account crafting speed (with or without addition effects of modules and beacons). Instead it always shows the value as if crafting speed is 1.

For example, a Processing Unit being built in an Assembling Machine 3, will always show a time of 10 seconds, when in reality it is 8 without any additional effects.

This makes it much harder for newer players to plan for automation without having to search through forum/reddit posts to find out the proper production formula, or "perfect" ratios.

Please consider updating this in the assembly machines, as we can already see what the base is in our inventory screen, which always show crafting speed of 1.

If one were to modify the crafting time that is shown, not only would it become inaccurate because of long decimals (e.g. AM2 producing gears takes 2/3 of a second, which would need to be displayed as either 0.6 or 0.7; neither of these is exactly correct), but to maintain consistancy, the recipes would also need to be updated for productivity, which can't be done (due to how productivity works).

Thanks for the report,

In this case it is intentional that the recipe is always static, it shows how much crafting time is required, independant of any machine or crafting bonuses
