Hi devs & others.
I have found my map to have some very strange effects on the headless client, and on the factorio client as well (running the map in a single player mode on the actual graphical client).
When the server starts to load the map, memory usage sky rockets to around 11.5GB within a few seconds, unfortunately I do not know what has caused the large memory usage, but I thought that I would share the map file anyway just in case I have found a bug that needs fixing?
The map file can be downloaded from here: http://www.vps-solutions.co.uk/private/_autosave24.zip
I have tried other map files which are also soft-modded in this way, and they use around 800mb of RAM...
Removing the soft mods does not fix the memory usage issue.
This is currently causing the map to be unplayable as the factorio client when connected to this server uses around 12GB of RAM, the server also seems to not be coping very well either as I get "Server Not Responding" quite often while playing.
Any help would be great.
Thanks all!
** Edit **
Apologies, the uploaded file was incorrect, it's correct now.
[0.15.11] Extremely High Memory Usage Map (11.5GB)
Re: [0.15.11] Extremely High Memory Usage Map (11.5GB)
Someone set map_settings.pollution.ageing to -0.5 which means chunks passively generate pollution creating a never-ending feedback of active chunks.
Once a chunk gets polluted it produces more pollution which then pollutes more chunks and it just doesn't stop - resulting in the map you've got now.

If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
