Right now it just seems that factorio is populated either by starcraft's zerglings, or hydralisks. And that is totally fine, but after some time (430h+ actually) its starting to get a lot predictive and unimpressive - for me at least. Adding elemental damage is an easy way to make those more of a threat, and many mods do this, but stronger biters are still, boring threat. I would love some variations, maybe some colossal/behemot ones, maybe slower armored little tanky ones, or ranged flying/swimming ones. Maybe some bloodsuckers from s.t.a.l.k.e.r, or some deadly assassin luring in the dark like alien from Alien vs Predator, requiring you to either use night vision or actually use light lamps to be safe(ish). It would play especially nice with Rampant AI mod, i bet that Veden would make some special behaviors for those

And yes there are some mods adding enemies, but up to date is only Will-o'-the-wisps. However this one adds enemies that are rather mildly aggressive irritants than an enemy, especially while bound to trees.
I must say, i really was hoping that factorio will develop RTS traits. like units building and management but leaving player on the ground to care for automation and buildings. it would certainly be fun to either battle between players controlling machines and hive queen, or even two normal players against each other. Its still early though. maybe someday, somewhere... or maybe devs will notice this thread by any chance?
