Tech details: MacBook Pro (17 inch, mid-2010), NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB, macOS 10.12.4
Played the demo, got a few saves, decided to purchase full game. All fine, except gameplay is extremely jerky (unlike in demo). Go to options, change Graphics -> Video memory usage from High to All (like in demo by default).
Re-launch.
Get crash at 44% mark. This is in the log:

4.530 Error Util.cpp:77: Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash.
Delete /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/factorio, launch the game, same jerkiness. Change the same setting - same crash.
Any ideas? More info to provide?

Re: Loading does not get past 44%
Your graphics card has the minimum VRAM required to play the game and you changed VRAM usage to all which pushed it over what your graphics card can handle. The full game uses more VRAM than the demo which means it's going to be more taxing on your system to run.
You'll need to turn the settings down to medium/low to get it to run on your system or get a more powerful computer.

Try options 1/3.
