Multiplayer - Unable to join game

Hello,

I am trying to play a game with some friends.

We all have the game on steam.

For some reason the game is requiring that I login. Okay, so I goto the forums and make an account. I go through the process, verify my email. Login on the forums. Go back to the game and this is where the problems start.....

For some reason the game is telling me that my password and user name don't match.

Amazing, considering I can log in to the forums.. post.. and even come here to seek help with the very same information it is telling me is incorrect.

Anyone have any ideas?

The forums account is the wrong account, you need a factorio.com account.

After you registered an account there you also need to connect the factorio.com account to Steam (as proof of purchase), this is done on the profile page (click your name on the top right).
