[0.10] Signals placed too near to the switch

Post by ssilk »

In some special situations it is so, that the signal can be placed too near to the switch, which leads to strange results.
See https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... =18&t=4399

In my eyes it is not really a bug, but so unawaited and non-transparent for the player, that it should be handled as bug.

I think there are some more of these combinations possible (switches or even very near rails or the train-stop).

A fix should either show the player, that the signal blocks both paths or it should not be allowed to place the signal so close or it makes the signal non-operateable (blinking).
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

I agree it is not a bug. Though some better visualization will be necessary. This is also related to visualizing one-direction rail signals (which is already something on our todo list).
