Install mod on dedicated server

Post by Ookamisei »

Hello everyone.

Since yesterday i'm trying to install mods on a dedicated server, but nothing works... Like another topic says, i tried to create a mods folder on the ftp and add the mods in. But then, when i try to connect after restarting the server, this one respond that the mods are not installed.
I also tried to put in the "mod-list.json" edited, but it doesn't work too.

However on solo mode with the same save, it works perfectly.

Does anyone have an idea to resolve this problem?
Thank you.

What is the complete path to the factorio executable and into what folder did you put the mods?
Posting a log file might also help.

I put the mods into the folder "/Factorio/mods" on the ftp, alongside with folder data, save, bin, etc.. in it too.
The game starts and runs without any issue when mods are on the distant server (but mods don't work). But it don't start when they're enable on the local client too. When connecting, it just says "Mods mismatch detected! Nameofmod is not on the server.", and refuse to log in.

I don't have any log, cause it's a special server on Nitroserv. There is no console, or i don't know how to access it...

EDIT : I forgot to say, factorio is in "/Factorio/bin/x64"

Sounds like you need to contact Nitroserv support.

The log should be at /Factorio/factorio-current.log. If it's not there then ask the nice guys at Nitroserv where it is stored. Also ask them where mods should be uploaded to and you got your answer.

Problem solved!

The support didn't help me, cause it only handles server management, not game problem. But someone on a forum made multiples tests and said to put directly the mods in data on the ftp. And that works! No need a folder "mods", or anything else.

Hope this tip can be useful to someone else. :D
