I'm having trouble running Factorio on macOS, tried with the steam version and the free demo available to download.
The option menus are without checkboxes and the game is not... showing properly (see screenshots).
I'm certainly doing something wrong, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Running Factorio on Mac?
Looks like quite similar to the problem here but it's interesting that you have it with AMD GPU

You could try if similar workarounds also work in OSX.

Re: Running Factorio on Mac?
You are running out of VRAM, the minimal amount for factorio is 512MBeden23 wrote: gpu ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB
Re: [14.21] Graphic issues with 256MB VRAM
You can try to set --max-texture-size=4096 or 2048, if that doesn't help try to set launch options to --gfx-safe-mode

I will stick to playing Factorio on my pc then, thread can be closed
Both of these worked, but was lagging too much to be playable, thanks anywayposila wrote:You can try to set --max-texture-size=4096 or 2048
Re: Running Factorio on Mac?
In graphics options try to set sprite resolution to low and video memory usage to medium or low.eden23 wrote:Both of these worked, but was lagging too much to be playable, thanks anywayposila wrote:You can try to set --max-texture-size=4096 or 2048
Desktop is better though
