My game wont update

My game is one Version 0.12.29 and it wont update and every time i check for updates it tells me there are none

What do you have in the "Updates" and "Beta" tabs of the Properties window for your Factorio ? (Right-click on Factorio in your Steam library, and Properties)

what you have selected here?



if none, you should have 0.14.20
if experimental then 0.14.21

other are just have number in name ...

from your screenshot it looks, that you not using STEAM version of Factorio, just downloaded zip file, extracted on desktop and you added shortcut to your steam client.

Since it's that old, i suggest downloading new version from factorio webpage (again zip package) and overwrite current one, backup your save folder before doing so, just in case

as for updates, after you download, go to options->other and tick enable updates, you might also tick experimental updates

one more note, if you want steam to manage your updates, you need to link your factorio to steam account, redeem steam key, and add it to steam client, then you will be able to use steam version of game, steam version of game has mods and save in %APPDATA%/Factorio, so you will need to move/copy your current Save folder in there.
