some sort of crash won't let me play the game.

I installed the demo, and I got that thing where you had to maximize it, so I did that, went to options and put the game in full screen mode.
then restarted the game because I changed the language, and when I start the game now, I get a really small version of the game starting in the corner of my screen.


it is a little bit smaller than a normal sized pictogram. however, I can't go back to windowed mode. I can't maximize the screen anymore.

Reinstalling the game doesn't work.

I have read it now, but the solutions described didn't work.
I don't think the problem is with the maximizing, the problem lies within the fact that I tried to go fullscreen. and somehow that crashed the game and made everything pile up in my left corner.

I would (if you haven't already) try to edit the config.ini file, line 119 (about 2/3 of the way through) from fullscreen=true to fullscreen=false, (or try deleting the config.ini completely, it should recreate itself).

edit: I realize I forgot to mention where the config file is...it's located in %appdata%\Factorio\config\config.ini if you are using the installed version of Factorio or Factorio\config\config.ini (if you are using the zip version, where 'Factorio' here stands for where you extracted the zip)
