Rail Signals...
Rail Signals...
I thought I was smart but I can't figure out the simplest of rail signals. In the attached photo I have a station on the right end and I'd like trains coming from the right to wait if there is currently a train at the station. I would have thought signals on the right side before the junction would have separated it properly but... It doesn't.

Re: Rail Signals...
Are these trains 2-way? Because otherwise I don't see how they turn around after unloading, also, that means the rail you've laid needs to be 2-way as well. So you're going to want some chain signals here. In order to signal rail so that trains can travel both directions on it, you need to have signals on both sides, and they must be in pairs (one directly across the tracks from the other) in order for that to work. The other thing you will need to ensure is that if a train is in the station, the other one can't enter the Y-junction leading to that station until the train already there has left and passed through said junction, this is why you need to use chain signals. A pair on each of the 3 ends of the Y-junction will suffice.

Re: Rail Signals...
welcome to the forums! signals take some a lot of time to wrap your head around.
as Frightning pointed out you will need a 'two headed' train for that stop (which is the proper way IMO)
with my example (click the + to expand) the trains come from the right (facing the stop) and wait at the chain signal for the train to exit to the waiting trains left. you will want cars for the trains of course.
