more precise control of trains

There are 3 features I wouldn't mind seeing in the mod API:

1. Set a arbitrary target destination for a train (and allow it to back up even when no rear facing locs are connected)
2. allow it to ignore a specific signal while doing so
3. trigger connecting and disconnecting trains

These features would allow creation of a working shunting yard setup.
