I've built over 1500 logistics robots but my system tells me there are only 450+ robots that can work, and if I don't produce new robots continuously that number eventually reduces to 0.

Re: [0.9.8] Disappearing Logistics Robots
It might be too much, but maybe we could add some little statistics that would show what were the reasons of logistic robot deaths.

Some warning that you loosed a bot?

Re: [0.9.8] Disappearing Logistics Robots
Why does the bot even try to perform an action that is guaranteed to lead to its destruction? Either force the bots to always stay within safe distance from roboports or just don't let them take tasks where estimated energy requirement is too high.
Re: [0.9.8] Disappearing Logistics Robots
This is most probably tied to the known issue, that logistic robots go straight to it's target, it doesn't try to stay near roboports on the way.
If you have roboport network in the shape of "U", and you there is big distance between these ends, or even enemy base, they will get killed.
This is something we will solve in the next versions.
Conclusion: The only reliable roboport system now needs to have convex shape.

Re: [0.9.8] Disappearing Logistics Robots
Hm. Even when this partly problem will be solved, it seems to me a good idea to have some warning, when you loose bots, no matter how. The biters like them too much and then there is the problem with the overloaded roboports... (or if you loose a car or a train...)
Or do you have something different in mind?

Ahhhh that explains where my 100 logistic bots went. I was wondering why/how they all pulled a disappearing act on me.kovarex wrote:This is most probably tied to the known issue, that logistic robots go straight to it's target, it doesn't try to stay near roboports on the way.

Re: [0.9.8] Disappearing Logistics Robots
what about an advanced robot that is solar powered, so that it has longer range and simply goes to sleep if it falls short at night?
