EDIT2: The message box appears right after catching up fails. I can only see it for a fraction of a second, before the game returns to the menu. It appears that the message box hangs around in the background until you join a game again.
Also, catching up seems to always fail the first time...
Two bonus logs: (one is after trying another connect and pressing "quit" on the message box, the other is after being dropped starting a local game and clicking on "quit")
