I bought this game on steam

But the game says, I have to buy the game on steam, to have the rights to log in. For example, to install mods. What can i do?

When i start Factorio:
Couldn't initialize Steam API. Steam related features are disabled. Restarting Steam usually fixes this issue.

When i tried to log in:
Insufficient membership. Login requires a membership which owns the game. Please buy the game on our website or via retailers (Steam, GOG).

Create an account on www.factorio.com (it is not the same as the forums account)
when you are logged in you should be able to go to https://www.factorio.com/settings and near the bottom should be an option to link your steam account.

IF the game was bought from steam or somewhere else, you need a factorio account to access mod and such ingame.

Go to factorio.com, create an account. log in, in the top right corner, click on your name, then bottom of the page, link steam account.

Now, if ingame the game ask you for password and username, type your factorio account.

Note : forum account is NOT a factorio account.

I'm having this same problem. I am logged into my Factorio account and it says it is linked to my Steam account.

What is the message exactly when you try to browse things ingame ?
