A pretty simple idea, make it possible to remove individual wires between objects.
I am currently in the process of building a fairly complex circuit network, and every time I connect a wire wrong (or worse, find out later that I don't want it), I have to copy the setting of the object to another, temporary object, commit all wires I do want to short-term memory, remove the object, re-place the original object, copy the settings back and reconnect all the original wires I do want. This is way more work than it has any right to be, and worse, requires my memory, which is kinda unreliable for this stuff.
Suggested implementation: when connecting two objects while holding SHIFT (or CTRL, ALT, [insert key here]), instead of connecting the two objects, the wire of the same color between these objects is removed. (And possibly something like CTRL + click to remove all circuit network wires from an object)

Have a look at https://wiki.factorio.com/index.php?tit ... it_network :TheUnknown007 wrote:A pretty simple idea, make it possible to remove individual wires between objects.
I think it can't be simpler, but it lacks intuitivity. Well, it's a known issue. To erase a wire connection, drag the same color wire over an existing connection.
Moved to implemented.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Probably not that easy to make the wire graphic itself selectable but that is the optimal solution here.

Re: Remove individual wires
That is the one thing I didn't try.
It works, but I didn't get my wire back

Mousing over wires can be hard when you have two wires between objects (like a green and a red wire between belts), since they are on exactly the same spot.Zeblote wrote:...mouse over the wire and right click?ssilk wrote:I think it can't be simpler, but it lacks intuitivity.

Re: Remove individual wires
Are they actually overlapping completely even when fully zoomed in?

Re: Remove individual wires
Not when connecting sideways, because they connect not at the exact same spot, but they do overlap when connecting vertically (except for the bit of red wire in the top)Zeblote wrote:Are they actually overlapping completely even when fully zoomed in?
Re: Remove individual wires
We just Need wire cutters plain and simple. Tool to replace axes late game.

You're necroing to a 2 year old - obsolete - topic.
You can cut a wire any time without tool (right-click) and here are the new graphics (normal and HD), that add visibility to the wires in any configuration:
