Mod Portal: Mod name character limitation necessary

Not sure if this counts as a bug, but on the mod portal, when browsing through the mods, when a mod has a REALLY long name, it overly stretches the UI, making you unable to see other information, like last updated or how many downloads.



I've counteracted the issue temporarily by reducing the vertical resolution to make the text smaller, therefore reducing the stretch on the UI. but if there's any way to make that UI ignore parts of names that are too long, then that would be great!

This makes it very difficult to sort and quickly find popular mods such as RSO that are integral to other mods. (there are multiple versions/authors)

This was annoying me as well. I liked being able to sort by last update time.

Tweaked the column widths and limits for 0.13.14, hopefully it's better now.

ooops, it seems that these long names are my fault , but I found that it was nice in this huge mod list to understand the overall goal of each mod (the title is not always obvious or self explaining), without having to click on it and view the precise description. But I will try to limit myself at a certain number of characters to avoid problems.

Hanziq, can you tell me what width limit you integrate and how many characters would approximately fit in this width ?

It fits about 30-40 characters, I'm not exactly sure. In 0.14, the mod name, title and description will be hard limited (probably 50/50/500 characters), such mod won't be loadable and uploadable to the mod portal.

As I am the main culprit , to solve the problem until next release, I already shortened all names of my mods when they were too long. Should be better now.

And with a proper horizontal scrollbar, the problem should be solved.

That's great. Mod description is there for a reason, there's no reason to add what the mod does in the title.

However, the description should be unlimited. Some mods can't be explained in 500 characters.
