Forgot password to link steam email

I don't remember making an account and linking it to my steam. I need the email so that I can host a server for multiplayer. Is there any way to link a different account to my Steam?

If you have never created an account on Factorio website, and you have bought the game on Steam, you can do so whenever you want here : http://www.factorio.com/signup.

Then you can link the account to your Steam.

I bought the non steam version of Factorio and got a free copy for steam... everything works fine. The only thing I'm wondering is that I had to reset my password so I could use mods on steam but it doesn't work.
I can log into my account but using mods is not possible. This message appears when I try to install a mod:

Authentication error on the auth server (Steam ID already paired with another user). Most probably username and password don't match.

I have no idea what to do to solve this problem. Hopefully you can help me out.
