[0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
[0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
If you put concrete under the cursor, and click somewhere to place that concrete, and that somewhere happens to be under something that can open a GUI, the GUI will open. The concrete will be placed as well. Essentially the concrete placement click is not consumed, and caught by the entity. This can be a minor annoyance, since the last thing you probably want when placing concrete is a window covering the area you're trying to place concrete in XD

Thanks for the report,
This is inconsistent with other items where you can place things in game, and affects all tile items

Re: [0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
It's that way on purpose because otherwise you can't open entities to put stone bricks in them or even quick transfer stone bricks into anything.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
Re: [0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
If that's the case, should the concrete also be placed? It seems to me that only one of two things should happen. Either 1) the concrete is placed, or 2) the GUI is opened. The fact that both happens seems odd.
Re: [0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
To make matters worse, with 0.13 the circuit network allows opening of entities such as transport belts and inserters. It is these entities' GUIs that keep popping up when I place concrete.
I'm now not 100% sure anymore the concrete is actually placed. I thought it was but it doesn't seem to make sense now that I think about it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just tested things more thoroughly and as it turns out this is what happens:
- If concrete can be placed, it is placed. No entities are opened.
- If concrete is already placed, the entity is opened.
- If concrete could be placed but is not actually be placed (because it is out of range because of your big brush), no entities are opened.
So what happened to me is probably that I am trying to place concrete where there is concrete already. I suspect this is because I just click somewhere to start placing and then run around to just "paint" concrete everywhere. I don't particularly care where I start, so chances are it's on a place already full of concrete. I suppose one will have to change one's ways XD

Re: [0.13.8] Placing concrete opens entities
Although one could argue there is never a need to open transport belts or inserters and the like while holding a placeable item.
