Hello there
A quick idea comes in my mind today while playing factorio today.
It's probably stupid but factorio remind me a map I played on starcraft 2 (mineralz evolution, I don't know if it still exist)
The goal of this map was to build a base to defend vs alien (coincidence ? )
To do that you have to collect diffrent kind of ressource and build your base while constantly attacked by alien. Towers required energy, healer, shield etc... (some automatization have to be done)
It was 'turn based', at day no alien, but each night it is war... Alien comes non stop with some special one at specific nights etc...
The more night you go through the more Advanced defense you need.
This game required a lot of testing to find the correct base setup to both growth & defend.
Each time I play Factorio, it remind me this map for the 'Alien part' and the base setup.
On a different scale I could see that happen on factorio with a kind of timer to indicate the next big wave of alien Attack. More and more alien each time, with flying one and bosses for example.
It could be an alternative and more challenging (military ?) way to play factorio since you are fighting both against the clock and the alien.
The survival part would be also more interesting imo.
Also it can be very cool to pratice this on multiplayer since some players can be dedicated to defense and the other one to the automation etc...
I know Factorio is not this kind of game and i love it so much like it is actually.
My thoughs is only about an alternative and more military way to play factorio. How long will you survive ?
