deconstruct with or without robots?

Don't know how to use a machine? Looking for efficient setups? Stuck in a mission?

deconstruct with or without robots?

Post by brunzenstein »

I have worked the game until the state of automatic creation of blue science- but I have somehow construct myself in a wall.

I would either need:

- a easy way to get he robots running I have no experience with but I seem to be near to. (I have even researched blueprint and the deconstruction module - i can't use now)
- a way to dismantle larger parts of my existing factory and rearrange the layout by other means

both preferably not to loose the work of countless hours - I don't want to restart a new game.
Enclosed my research list

If you can't build construction robots and a deconstruction planner, the only way to demolish a large part of your base is via right clicking to disassemble the stuff. But be sure to build a lot of chests first to store everything in. You'll find your inventory filling up often, especially if there are items in the buildings and on conveyors. Since you had the science packs automated, leave the assemblers making inserters and conveyors until last and make sure they can stay supplied as long as possible so you wont have to worry about running out of conveyors and inserters when building the new layout.

Or to use a gun to physically destroy the stuff (if you have ammo production set up)

Thanks .
I only want to dismantle parts of the factory (oil refinery and cracking)

Getting robots up isn't that hard. You can build one or more dedicated (temporary) robot frame assemblers somewhere near your refineries, something like:

Code: Select all

[assembly (engine)] ---> [assembly (electric engine)] ---> [assembly (robot frame)]
                              ^
[chemical (lube) ] ---------/
Then, manually put steel/gears/pipe in the engine assembler, and steel and batteries in the robot frame assembler. They will still take 20 seconds each, but you only need 10 - 20 building bots to get started, and you can let this run while you work on reconstruction.

there is something missing when i put that into lula console or do I need to paste this in the startup file?
. Get an error message - something like /c user e.g. in front?

that's not a game command, he was just typing an example of how to set up buildings to make some construction bots.
he used a code bracket so the forum would display the link between the chemical plant and the 2nd assembler properly.

Thank's
I will do so and follow that advise - the fun is definitely doing it without cutting corners
Updated: works now!
With roboports and the robots the real fun begins!!
