Is it possible to try out the old sprites?

Post by Xarovin »

I only heard of factorio when it appeared on steam, but I've seen some old videos and it looks so different. I'm just wondering if there's a sprite pack (or if I can just drag and drop from an earlier version) to see the old stuff in action on my current world?
I'm not wanting to actually revert back to that style, just think it might be interesting to see :)

I think that should be doable. I only have copies of 0.11 though ( I think so) , but I can check that when I'm home from work.

Edit:
Just checked, i still have the sprites for 0.10, but you cant just swapp the files, because some of the images got bigger.
Unfortunatly I'm not good enough to make a mod for this.

But Once this happens:
I bought the game via Steam, can I get the Factorio login for that as well?
Not at the moment. The only benefit coming from this at the moment would be getting a version of the game that can be started without Steam. However, for the 0.13 we would like to have this possibility. The idea would be that the web page account would be created directly from the game after running it via Steam (we need to do a bit of research about this). The possibility to create Factorio account for Steam users will be necessary because we are planning to introduce multiplayer matching server and mod portal which will use authentication with factorio accounts.
You can download an older version of the game (up / down to 0.6)
