This is one thing that we found infuriating about playing with bobs + 5dim - uptee zillion multicoloured inserters with weird names. I ended up deleting a bunch just so I could find the actual ones I use. Then I found K&L inserters and wonder why other modders don't do the same thing, the little GUI to pick where the arm starts/ends is lovely and it doesn't clutter up the tabs. Is there a reason no-one else does it that way (someone said about using a ton of recipes or some programming thing)?bobingabout wrote: I can think of so many other types of inserter I'm missing too... but each requires a new entity. For example, all 8 types of express inserter can also be done Left handed, and Right handed (take from tile on left, or tile on right instead of tile behind), which brings you up to 24 types.
On top of that the "Shuffle inserter", can take from 1 tile away to place 2 tiles away, or vica verca, there's another 4 (near belt to far belt near side, near belt to far belt far side, far belt to near belt near side and far belt to near belt far side.) that's 28 types!
And that's not even counting 3 tile reach, or diagonals.
In the case of bob's mods at least, you don't need to delete anything. if you use and open up the config mod's config.lua file, one of the sections deals with the logistics mod, which has a few entries for inserter options. you can cut it right down to only adding the new express inserter if you like.Ratzap wrote:I ended up deleting a bunch just so I could find the actual ones I use.
Basically, 2 issues.Ratzap wrote:Then I found K&L inserters and wonder why other modders don't do the same thing, the little GUI to pick where the arm starts/ends is lovely and it doesn't clutter up the tabs. Is there a reason no-one else does it that way?
