Multiplayer same game doesn't work

Hey guys and gals. Love the game!!!
Now I started playing with a good friend and we had loads of fun.
If I load that multiplayer game my friend can seem to join. (no connection with the server)
He is able to join a new multiplayer game but not the saved ones.
If we start a new one, save it, we are also not able to log in.
We both have the _autosave1 one file, and we both have the ability to host games (port and stuff are all good on both our machines).
Do you guys have any idea what I can do?
Or were to find an answer to this problem?
We were 2,5 hours in and would be great to continue!

Not sure if you did this, but did you select Multiplayer -> load game in the menu?
I had this problem some times when i tried to play Multiplayer, that i forgot to switch, because you can also load multiplayer maps as singleplayer.

Took me a while before i could test this.
I redid the whole port opening thing again,
and payed good attention while opening the safe file,
to be absolutely sure it was multiplayer.
Maybe it was that silly thing or something else
But it´s working again
