Hello,
I just purchased Factorio yesterday off of steam after seeing rave reviews and hearing a lot of good things. Unfortunately, I can't get it to run on my desktop.
Every time I start up I get an error which says: "Factorio requires Service Pack 1 on Windows 7. Current OS: Windows 7". I have service pack 1 on windows 7, and am up to date with windows update.
I can get the game to try and boot up when I run in compatability mode for Vista SP 2, but the game crashes on startup and I get the log files posted here.
I am running a 4770k, an R9 290, 16 GB of ram, and an SSD so I figure I am well above the system requirements on steam.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Make sure you don't run Factorio.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 7 without Service Pack.
If that doesn't help, check if you run Steam.exe in compatiblity mode and if so, disable it or set it to different version of Windows.
To change compatibility, right click on the shortcut on desktop or in the start menu and go to Properties/Compatibility.

We have found workaround for bug in Visual C++ math library that was causing crash on unpatched Windows, so we will drop Service Pack requirement soon.
