Can't place anything

Using the newest version, can't place walls/conveyors or anything, can't even use grenades or robot capsules. I can mine/destroy things I just can't place them, I've reinstalled/restarted my computer many times, no luck.

Just check your control settings.

You can also reset all your settings by just deleting the config file (%appdata%/Factorio/config/config.ini)

Wow, somehow the build button got set to the escape button, no idea how but thank you so much. god I feel like a idiot for not thinking of that.

We've got a reset controls button in the controls menu since a few versions ago
