The tech progress bar that is in the top right corner does not provide enough info. It just gives a progress bar, and from that you cannot determine the exact progress. I think there should be a #/# for how much progress has been made with each of the Science Packs. For example;
Sorry for the crappy image editing; I've only edited a couple images before.
This would make it easier for people to know how many of each Science Packs they need to make before they make it all automated.

Progress is only made if all of the required science packs are present. You cannot feed the labs 50 red science to progress half the way and later add 50 green science to complete it. Furthermore, if you have the science packs on belts (or chests, maybe filled by robots) it is not trivial to calculate how many science packs will be available to the labs.Grafando wrote:The tech progress bar that is in the top right corner does not provide enough info. Your suggestion would only be valid if all the labs were already filled with enough science packs to complete the researching technology, but currently they only take what they need from the belt/chest, and this probably won't be changed.
Re: Tech Progress: More Info!
I don't understand what you're saying, exactly? The progress would show what has already been done (the progress made), not queued Science Packs. As I said, it would be useful for those that have not automated research yet. Say I need 10 total Science Pack 1's, and I've researched with 5 of those so far. It would show 5/10, and I would know to make 5 more.
Re: Tech Progress: More Info!
The percentage could be of some use, but the science pack count, a lot less.
You'll stop feeling the need to count your science packs as soon as you'll automate your first science setup, which should arrive really early.
Moreover, science packs don't consume themselves in a discrete way, but continuously. Each tick of research consumes a fragment of science pack. That would make the display awkward.

Even if that is in my eyes not a good suggestion I've added it to

I already have automated multiple science setups...I was making this suggestion because it would be useful for those that have just started.Koub wrote:The percentage could be of some use, but the science pack count, a lot less.
