Picking up everything in game takes so long

Hello guys,

One thing thats really really bothering me at the moment is the time it takes me to pick up something. A wooden box 5 seconds or a steel furnace 5 seconds and even worse a wall all takes 5 seconds per item.

Sometimes the game picks things up really quickly but sometimes it goes super slow.

Whats up with this?

What do you mean, "picking up"? Left clicking on a building or pressing F for an item on the ground?

You can build a pickaxe (or later a steel pickaxe) for the first problem.

It seems that you are doing that without any kind of tools. I.e axes.
Get some decent tools and picking things up goes much much quicker.

Sorry I didnt make my self clear at all, apologies.

I meant picking up items y'know like I put down a assembly factory and then I want to pick it up again or I put down 20 furnaces and then wish to pick them all up, It literally takes 5 seconds to pick each furnace up, you can imagine this is a complete nightmare with walls since you have millions of them.

Sometimes the game allows me to pick things up almost instantly but for some reason its really slow doing so now.

Really? So If i have a steel pick axe I can pick up walls & factories faster? I didnt know that, thanks for the heads up!

Yes, that's right. But "picking up" a furnace should not need 5 seconds. Maybe your old pickaxe did brake.

Just confirmed that. Sorry guys I didnt realise at all that having a pickaxe had anything to do with picking up items. Thanks!!!

I think that technically you're not picking things up, you mine them. That includes furnaces etc. Which makes sense I suppose. It's not like you could 'pick up' most of those things, they are way too big!

Pick up: take up lose items on ground. With the F-key.
Mining: convert an entity into an item (and picking it up). The conversion needs time dependend on the health/strength (?) of an entity.

Consider it to be using your mining tool to deconstruct said item. Makes sense in that context. Better tool faster deconstruction.

Haven't seen BP yet, but wonder if we will be able to move buildings on same territory. Like mark one group to be picked-up and replaced as needed.
