you can only pick up items when you are on the belt.
I only noticed this when i tryed to take items from one side of the belt.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, or if it is meant to be like this.
you can only pick up items when you are on the belt.

It is not a bug, in god mode, the picking is only based on the selected entity.
