Crash from start since 12.10

12.09 ran just fine, but I haven't been able to run any versions of the game since 12.10, (Or maybe 12.11, can't remember, I just have 12.09 right now). All crash from the start. White screen, then unexpected error occurred.

No mods, nothing, tried compatibility mode, run as admin. Nothing worked.

Solution 2
This is especially relevant with amd cards.
Note: For this to have any effect you have to have Factorio version 0.12.7 or higer and run on Windows.
Try to force the game to use opengl instead of d3d, you can change it by changing the config value to this:

What Smarty said, but set force-opengl to "false" (you have it "true" already). The option is in config.ini, location of which depends on whether you installed the game or just extracted it from ZIP: https://forums.factorio.com/wiki/inde ... _directory

After that if the game starts but has missing icons or sprites, or there is random noise instead of sprites, try to update your graphics driver to the latest beta release.

EDIT: Or update the graphics driver first (non beta), try to run Factorio and if it still doesn't run continue with the steps above.
