Upgrading Logistics Robots

Hi all,
I'm running Bob's mods and the fully upgraded Mk. 2 bots are really fast, and I use well over a thousand of them in my game. I want to collect them all to upgrade them to Mk. 3 and the only way I've been able to do this before was to set down a requester chest and hold down the right mouse button as they all fly at me and grab as many as I can. This works somewhat OK in single player but is nearly impossible in multiplayer due to the small lag delay.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to take them all down so I can stick them in the logistics network to be upgraded? Thanks!

go to a roboport and pull them out

smart inserters can take them out as well IIRC

I've tried that but it doesn't help with the 500+ bots flying around unless I start pulling up the tons of roboports I have.

If you disconnect all power to the roboports, won't they discharge and pile up at the waiting spots?

I had good luck placing bot storage chests near my main logistics storage and using filter inserters to pull out the old ones and send them for upgrade. Was able to upgrade 10000+ bots from MK2 to MK4 in 2 hrs. Even got some of the MK1's out that never made it to MK2. Just had to generate a massive logistics request to get them all in that area. Had the bot army move the entire storage of 100 chests to another storage 10 tiles away by turning the first set into active providers.
