Found this previous bug report that said it was going to be fixed in 2.0.43, but I just encountered it in 2.1.12

So it it seem in vanilla you can go up to i8, but in Space Age you can only go up to i6.
I guess this is because that's the max number of ingredients you can have for either playthrough?
That means I would have to create the parametrized BP in vanilla to have a default one that works in both games. The parametrized BP I create in Space Age would not work in vanilla to build a spidertron then. I guess I understand you have to have a limit somewhere. I assume if a mod adds a recipe with more than 8 ingredients, parametrization would go higher than? i9 feels like an easy cut off so you can create a blueprint in either vanilla or space age and it will work in both..

Re: [2.1.12] Parametrized blueprints with more than 6 ingredients
There are no bugs here. In vanilla you can use up to i8 because of spidertron recipe which takes 8 items however in SA that recipe takes different ingredients and the higest amount of ingredients is for quantum-processor and fusion-reactor-equipment which take 6 ingredients each. I am not interested in making game to accept more ingredients in formulas just to account for different mod compositions because there is no hard threshold above which players wont say "please increase it just by 1 more because of mod X" and as such current behavior is correct as it provides the exact amount of parameters as needed in a current set of mods you are playing with. Because you are asking for the game to go beyond what is needed, this makes it a feature request and not a bug.
