I play on a fairly weak laptop. Thanks to Factorio's excellent optimization, the game runs quite well even on my hardware. But unfortunately, my laptop's cooling system isn't just weak - it's downright terrible.
Previously, overheating in Factorio was solved by limiting the FPS to 30 (or even 20 on large bases). For me, a low FPS in Factorio doesn't really detract from the gameplay, but it helps prevent throttling.
I play on Linux... there, the FPS limiter is implemented using "mangohud," but after one of the updates, mangohud stopped working for Factorio. I've been trying to fix the FPS limiter for quite some time, but that's Linux—sometimes it just doesn't work. Even if i will fix mangohud, it's still essentially a hack.
As the game approaches final release, I still have a sliver of hope that an FPS limiter might be added to the in-game settings.
Could you add an FPS limiter?

There's a console command to change the game's update speed - since FPS is linked to UPS this should have the same effect as an FPS limiter. Note the command will disable achievements for the save.
