TL;DR
The indicator for pings doesn't stand out extraordinarily well. When looking at a busy map, the thin red cross can blend into the orange and red colors of the logistic network and turret visualizations. Also, because it blinks on/off, it might literally not be there when I'm looking at it, as I'm quickly scanning the map trying to find it. If the ping happens to be off screen, there is no indication of this. If the factory is large and I have to zoom out extremely far, the indicator scales down along with the map and becomes even harder to see.- pings.png (112.68 KiB) Viewed 114 times
What?

2. There should be an indicator when the ping is off screen, same as with pins (mockup):

3. The ping should be large, and remain the same size regardless of zoom level.
4. The ping should remain visible at all times, instead of blinking on/off. To draw attention to itself, it could vary its color or size instead. If it has to blink on/off, I would recommend making the off period shorter.
Why?
Efficient communication in multiplayer is very important for an enjoyable experience. I frequently have to ask my friend to ping a second time as I struggle to find what they're talking about. It's frustrating
