- It can be resolved by putting items sufficient for another craft into the machine, where it would "recall" the ongoing craft.
[2.1.8] Furnace prototypes stop working after re-building prototypes
[2.1.8] Furnace prototypes stop working after re-building prototypes
After re-building the prototypes and loading the save, if a machine of furnace prototype has one craft in progress but no items in their internal container at the moment when the game was saved, it will "forget" about that ongoing craft, and get stuck in the state shown below:

Thanks for the report however I am not able to reproduce what you're describing. Are you using any mods? Can you please provide the mods if you are, and a save file with steps to reproduce this?
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.
Re: [2.1.8] Furnace prototypes stop working after re-building prototypes
I attached my mod list, thogh I don't think this is mod-related as I'm doing a quasi-vanilla run.
Here's a more detailed description of reproduction; this issue is reproduce 100% when these steps are followed on my save:
1. Find a machine of furnace prototype, insert items just sufficient for one craft, so it enters this state: one craft in progress, no items in the internal container slot. Before the craft is done, hit esc and save the game. 2. Trigger the re-build of prototypes and restart the game. This can be done by toggle a random mod from on to off or from off to on in-game mod portal and click confirm.
3. After the restart, load the save. The machine mentioned above will "forget" about the ongoing craft, with progress bar at 0%, as if it were idling all along. 4. However, when items sufficient for another craft is place in the machine, it will "recall" the previous craft, and begin working on it again.

Re: [2.1.8] Furnace prototypes stop working after re-building prototypes
Thanks for the modlist. I'm not sure why my original attempts didn't reproduce the issue but I was able to figure it out with the mods. This is now fixed for the next release.
