[2.0.72] blueprint library and blueprint book scroll to top after edits

Post by factoriouzr »

Lots of actions inside blueprint library and blueprint books scroll back to the top instead of staying where you were scrolled to vertically.

issue steps:
-open the blueprint library with many rows of blueprints/books.
-scroll down
-right click on a blueprint book to open it
-press Esc to close the book
-you are shown the previous screen but you are now all the way at the top of the list instead of where you were

more issues:
do the same steps as above but instead of opening a blueprint book, edit a blueprint and the same issue happens

expected behaviour:
when you do any action in the bluerpint library or blueprint book, it should remember where you were on the previous screen. This can be done by actually remembering where you were, or by storing the scroll bar location before performing the action, then restoring the scroll bar location after the action is completed.

It's really bad from a user perspective to work with the blueprints like this. It's confusing, bad UI design. It's not intuitive as a user of pretty much any operating system. Windows, Linux, none behave this way. The previous window that is in effect (from a user perspective) behind the new screen stays in the same state it was in.

This is also not intuitive from a back and forward navigation perspective. When you go back in things it remembers where you were, yet the blueprint library is such a design yet it always scrolls to the top.

This makes it hard to work with. You always have to scroll back to where you were to be able to do the next step. For eg. you scroll down, edit a blueprint. The window scrolls to the top, so they you have to scroll down a lot to find where the blueprint was you just edited so you can then click on it and use it. This becomes even worse when you want to edit multiple blueprints that are beside each other.
